Hi, I’m Hannah Ellington 👋
I grew up in the Midwest, where family dinners usually meant someone was grilling ribs outside or pulling a roast out of the oven. 🐖 Those meals weren’t polished or fancy, but they were full of laughter and good stories. They taught me early on that the best food is the kind you enjoy together.
I never planned to start a blog—it began as a way to save recipes I didn’t want to forget. Over time, it turned into a place to share the meals I lean on most: slow-cooked pulled pork, quick skillet chops, and Sunday roasts that make the whole house smell amazing. 💛
Cooking pork has taught me patience (low and slow really is worth it), flexibility (chops can be dressed up or kept simple), and humility (my first batch of homemade bacon was such a disaster that even the dog turned it down 🙈). But honestly, that’s what I love most—you’re always learning something new.
Here you’ll find recipes that I actually cook for my family. Some are weeknight-friendly, others take a little longer, and a few started as experiments that stuck around. They’re not fancy, but they’re real meals that fit into real life. 🌿
When I’m not cooking, you’ll probably catch me at the farmers market grabbing more veggies than I can carry, or out on the porch with a cup of coffee ☕ while a pork shoulder slowly roasts inside. Those small rituals—waiting, tasting, sharing—are what keep me grounded.
I love celebrating the ordinary moments too: pulled pork sliders while friends watch the game, a casserole for a neighbor, or just setting the table on a Tuesday night because it feels right. 🍷 To me, food is about comfort, tradition, and the people who gather around it.
So if you’re here looking for easy pork dinners, slow roasts, or a little inspiration for your weeknight meals, welcome. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope the recipes you find bring as much warmth to your kitchen as they do to mine. ❤️
